LTVFD Civil Rights & Civil Liberties Notice for the Public – 2025

Our commitment to nondiscrimination, accessibility, and equal access for all.

Liberty Township Volunteer Fire Department (LTVFD) receives federal assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), a component of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). In accordance with federal civil rights laws and regulations, LTVFD does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, or any other protected class in its programs, services, or activities.

LTVFD is committed to providing services and conducting activities in a manner that ensures equality and respect for all individuals. As part of our Nondiscrimination Program, we work to identify and address any instances of unfair treatment, because doing so is not only a legal responsibility—it’s the right thing to do.

Discrimination undermines public trust and can damage the integrity of our department. LTVFD will continue to promote awareness, prevent discrimination, and foster a positive culture throughout all of our public programs and services.

Public Facing Programs and Activities

LTVFD’s Mission is to provide fire protection and appropriate fire related services to the townships’ served under contract that is responsive to the priorities of Fire and Life Safety services.

Your Civil Rights

LTVFD treats all people equally regardless of an individual’s race, color, religion, nationality, national origin, sex, age, disability, English proficiency, or economic status.

When necessary, LTVFD provides free services so that individuals can better understand and access LTVFD programs, including:

  • Information in alternative formats such as large print, audio, or electronic formats usable with screen readers.
  • Sign Language Interpreters.
  • Written information translated into languages other than English.
  • Spoken Language Interpreters for languages other than English.

The Notice is available in English only and describes the procedures to file a complaint and how to contact LTVFD’s Nondiscrimination Program Coordinator for assistance.

Any member of the public may contact LTVFD if they feel they are the victim of discrimination in connection with LTVFD members, programs or activities. If you have a complaint, you must report it within 180 days of the alleged discriminatory act.
