As part of Fire Prevention 2025, firefighters from the Liberty Township Volunteer Fire Department visited Liberty Elementary School to share life-saving fire safety knowledge with kindergarten students.
The visit offered young learners an engaging opportunity to meet real firefighters, explore fire gear up close, and learn essential safety tips — including what to do if there’s smoke, how to “Stop, Drop, and Roll,” and the importance of having a family fire escape plan.
Firefighters emphasized that fire safety education starts early, and teaching these lessons at a young age helps children build awareness and confidence in what to do during an emergency.
The department is proud to continue its tradition of connecting with the community during Fire Prevention Week and throughout the year — helping ensure the next generation knows how to stay safe and prevent fires before they start.
